My BABY turned ONE!!
I still am trying to believe this. ONE?? Anyways, his birthday ended up being the same weekend we had to move to Holladay. So all we did was have some family over at his great grandparents house, where we were staying at the time, for a short party and then right after went home to our new place. He got lots of cool presents and he LOVED the cake! He had a chocolate cake with white frosting and sprinkles. He ate a ton and ate a hole right in the middle of it! We had to take his clothes off... too messy!!!

The start of my new job, as an apartment manager.

I must say its been nothing more than a blessing. I've been very busy(yes and that's why I haven't been blogging)with paper work, tenants, rent,.... all at the same time of taking care of Daxon. I am so happy to be able to say that! Work + taking care of Daxon! Sigh...

Thanksgiving weekend

Thanksgiving in California!!!

Chris and I were lucky to be able to go home for thanksgiving! By home I mean Sacramento!! We miss it so much and it felt so good to be back. We had lots of fun and loved being back with family!! Daxon loved playing with his cousins Noah and Spencer, they ran around and played, and were just all so cute together! I love my nephews!!!

Chris' brother Brian and his wife Shadell had a beautiful baby boy on November 14th. He is just the cutest and we love his so much!!! Congratulations Brian and Shadell!!!

We have been getting ready for Christmas around here. We have our tree, our decorations out, and have been watching a Christmas movie every night on family channel. Im trying to get Daxon excited for santa but i've got a feeling he has no idea what im even talking about. Oh well. Better luck next year right?

Yes, I'm now a working mom. But the best part of it all is, Daxon will go on with his normal daily life as if nothing has changed for him at all.

ANNNNNNND....

It's an even better job than the one I told you about in the last post! The owner called me yesterday and asked me if I would be interested in an even bigger complex. It's 120 units, with FREE RENT + $700/MONTH + NO UTILITIES + BONUSES!!

I would be lying if I said I wasn't nervous, but I am so extremely grateful for this opportunity Chris and I have!! What a great blessing this will be!!

WARNING!! THIS IS LONG!! =)

Daxon has a pet cat. OK, maybe it's not his, but they are friends! This cat always comes to our bedroom door and meows for Dax to come play with him. Whenever Daxon sees him he gets this high pitched voice and says, "teetee! teetee!" it's so cute. He LOVES his teetee. He now calls everything that even looks close to a cat a "teetee". The other day we were in the kitchen and there was a stuffed animal dog on the floor and he ran to it yelling, "teetee!! teetee!!".

This is a video of Dax and I passing the football back and forth. He cracks me up!! His shirt is very wet from teething and he has a bump on the side of his head I have no idea where he got it. Poor guy. I guess that's normal for a new walker though.

We were at our friends house watching the BYU game on Saturday, and Becky brings out this cool basketball hoop for Dax to play with! He loved it so much and was pretty good at it! Now I know what to get him for his birthday! Thanks again for having us over Scott and Becky! It was way fun!

A little update....

OK- Chris and I have been trying to find a place to live since we got here to Utah. A couple weeks ago we decided we wouldn't look for places to rent, we would look for a place to manage with free rent! This way, Chris can go to work and I could stay home with Dax and take care of whatever it is we would be managing. With that said, Utah being a place with TONS of college students looking for jobs we haven't had much luck. Last week my friend told me she knew of a apartment complex that needing a new management team to manage the 21 unit complex! So Chris and I gave them a call and to make a long story short, we went and looked at the place and want the job so bad! Working there would mean, NO RENT, NO UTILITIES, + $200 A MONTH, + BONUSES!! Hopefully we will hear from the guy sometime in the beginning of this week. WISH US LUCK AND PRAY FOR US!!! =)

We finally live in Utah, a place where we will live for at least another 3 years! Thank goodness!! I'm so sick of moving!! Since we've been married Chris and I have moved 6 times and we've only been married for a little over a year and a half now. We do have one more move cuz we are at Chris' grandparents house until we find a place to live, but at least we are in Utah!!! So if anyone knows of a place, let us know!!

As for Daxon, he's no longer a baby. He's a toddler before he's even one! He's a pro at walking and getting better at the running thing. He's a big talker(HE'S SO LOUD), and loves playing hide and go seek with his mommy and "dadda". He has a new best friend named Gage. Gage is Chris' cousin who happens to be 1 and 1/2, so needless to say Dax and Gage get along much better than Chris and Gage would. Dax and Gage run around pretty much all day playing together AND ITS SO CUTE!!! Daxon thinks Gage is SO COOL because Gage is lots better at running, and talking, and doing cool tricks than he is. They are so cute. Here are some pictures of the two!

Alrighty!! Im in DC for the weekend so I have internet at least for the next 4 days so im going to try and update my blog as much a possible!! Where to start............

I guess i'll just start posting some pictures!

He LOVED this!! He stayed in the sand like this for like 10 minutes. I was the one that decided to take him out. He would have stayed longer!!

No matter where he is in the house he'll hear the part right before they start singing and crawl as fast as he can towards the chair we have the laptop on (the one thing i don't like about living in virginia beach, not having a tv here) and pulls himself up to watch and dance along with the song! So cute! Take a look for yourself!

OK-OK-OK!!!!!!!! I know its been a month since my last post. It's just really hard when you don't have internet ya know?!!Anyways I have to make this a fast one before the internet stops working.
DAXON... He is now 8 months!! CRAZY!!
He can now.....
Stand on his own. The longest i've seen was about 10 seconds!
Eat a whole piece of pizza.
walk around our bed(super fast) while holding on with one hand at a time.
Sleep through the night(finally!!!!!!)
Oh ya.... this morning I found him halfway up the stairs!!! AHH!!!

Alright so it's not "crawling" really, it's more of a... up on all fours, stretch down on belly, up on all fours, stretch.... well, you can see for yourself! (pay no attention to the lady talking to the baby with the baby voice)

This morning was a good one!!! He did his "crawling" and he also went from laying on his belly to sitting up all by himself!! It's so weird to think I went from having a baby that didn't even like laying on his stomach two weeks ago, to a boy who can get around on his own! Kids grow up so fast. It's kind of depressing.

Oh... here is the latest picture of me trying to get a pic of his two teeth. Stubborn little thing! One of these days I'll get it!

Yesterday we went to the Fort Worth Zoo!! That Zoo is SO MUCH FUN!! It's WAY better than the Sacramento Zoo that's for sure. Anyways, we had a great time and Daxon enjoyed it too!

Tonight we put Dax in the tub with NO BATH SEAT!! He LOVED it so much!! We tried it out because I don't really want to have to bring the seat with us when we go to Virginia Beach. I'm so happy he loved it!!

His hair has lots of blonde so it looks like he's bald when wet!! Haha! And look at that bum!!

Somehow I always get a picture of him with this face! Look at those boobies!!!!

MR. TROUBLE MAKER???!!!

As you can see, this is Daxon's favorite thing to do right now. Standing up!! He will try and pull himself up onto anything and everything. Needless to say it keeps me pretty busy and on my toes!! He has also started this new thing that he thinks is so funny but really it's not!! Every time I give him a bite to eat of his dinner he spits it right back at me (on my face) and laughs like crazy! He thinks he's hilarious. What a trouble maker this kid is turning out to be I tell ya!!! Although, I have to admit… I love his "big boy" personality!!

Ive had a request to show how Dax can get onto all fours(ALLISON!!). Since he's only been seen doing it once all on his own, I forced him to do it for the picture! He was in the middle of playing with his toys so as you can see, he is NOT very happy I made him do this!! He's also been pulling himself up to a kneeling position while he's in his crib. It might be almost time to lower the crib a bit!

Ive also had to stop breastfeeding Daxon this week. My milk has gone bad. =(

Though I will admit, him feeding himself has been very nice!!

This weekend my baby boy turned 6 months!! On the day of, he showed us how he could FINALLY roll from his back to his belly!!!! It's about time, I KNOW!!! But wait.... there's more!!! Not only did he roll over from back to belly, but right after he got up onto ALL FOURS!!! He was trying to get to an easter egg. WOW!! Im a proud mommy, can you tell???

ALRIGHTYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!! Daxon had a little photo shoot tonight after his bath!! I Don't know why, I just loved the mood he was in so we took some pictures. Apparently I missed his nose while I was washing his body!! Yummy carrots for dinner!! =)

I also wanted to express how completely EXCITED I am for this summer!! VIRGINIA BEACH with my long lost friend EMILEE MUNDAY!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so excited to finally see her and her soon to be precious newborn angel child Kammie!!! Of course, my cute husband is NOT looking forward to this summer. Long hard working days ahead of him! He keeps telling me, "It's a good thing I love you so much!!"

HOWEVER........... there is something sooner and even BETTER that will happen next month!!! My SISTER AND HER WONDERFUL FAMILY ARE COMING TO TEXAS!!!!! OK OK OK... they are on their way the Dominican Republic (or what Noah calls it, "Tiki Beach") to stay in a awesome resort for a week, BUT they have a lay over here in Dallas for a couple of hours. HOW AWESOME IS THIS?!!! I miss my sister so much and my little Noah, and Spence, and yes... you too Nick!! =)

OK- I have been HORRIBLE with my blog, I KNOW! I have lots of pictures to put on so this might be one of those long ones.
Daxon is 5 months today!! WOW WHERE HAS MY LITTLE NEWBORN GONE??!! He's such a funny guy and so curious with everything he's constantly moving and wiggling around! His new favorite thing is to help you feed him. He wont take a bite unless he is helping you hold his spoon! He's getting better and better everyday with sitting up, he's talking a ton and blowing spit bubbles everywhere so much that sometimes it looks like he's foaming at the mouth! Ah!

He loves being outside, and really enjoys our morning walks we do every morning which is nice for me! Speaking of morning walks, I finally decided to buy a jogger! It was expensive and I never buy anything expensive, so while I was buying it I really felt like I was doing something bad!!! I'm so happy I did though because I'll get SO MUCH use out of it, and its going to help me get skinny skinny!! =)

Back to Dax! The poor little guy has been sick and he's had this nasty cough. I've been checking his temperature everyday and he hasn't gotten a fever yet so that's good. I just feel so bad for him, he hasn't been sleeping well at night, which means mommy hasn't been sleeping at night either! If anyone has any suggestions, let me know! I'd really like my little guy to get better soon!

Great Grandma and Great Grandpa are on a mission in Germany! We were lucky to have one of the flights come through Dallas, so they were able to come eat some food and say bye to us! LOVE YOU GRANDPA AND GRANDMA "B"! We will miss you!!

I LOVE THIS AGE!!! It seems like everyday Daxon has something new to show me he can do! Over the past little while he's been able to sit up on his own for maybe a couple of seconds so I never would really call that "sitting up" so to speak. WELL, last night he just BOOM out of the blue sat up for like 30 seconds!!! I sat him on my bed to let him play with some toys and decided to let go of him to see what he could do and..... WOW! I picked up my camera and we had a photo shoot! I said, "Dax look at mommy!" knowing i better take the picture fast because the second he looked up he would lose his balance and fall.... BUT NO! He looked up, smiled, looked down to play with his toy again... then looked up, and smiled and looked down again! I COULDN'T BELIEVE IT!! And on a bed! Beds I think would be hard for a wiggling baby to sit on. My baby is growing so fast! Now I don't want to brag too much because he might someday get behind on other things... like walking, or crawling, haha but I'm just so proud of him I had to make this public!!! Here are a couple pictures from last night!! More to come!!

Dax has a new walker! We bought him this the other day and it is one of those things we are SO happy we spent the money to get one! I think even if the toy gives mommy an extra 10 minutes of peace a day.... ITS WORTH IT, however, this thing IS and is going to be amazing! He has so much fun playing with it and is pretty good already about getting around in it!

Yesterday we went to this bounce house place called, Let's Jump. It was lots of fun! They had this little room for little babies and Dax LOVED it!!!!!! His mouth didn't close the whole time we were in there! Every picture we got of him, his mouth is open from all the excitement!! He went down some of the slides with mommy, daddy, and uncle Jason a couple times but nothing compares with the way he acted while in the baby room! Today Dax is 4 months old!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We love our little man and can't believe how much he's developed in just the past few days!

Ok- So last night there was a tornado warning for Tarrant county, where we live. It was kinda fun, I love storms! I think when the day comes that they start the tornado alarm, then i'll be feaking out! But they didn't so i actually enjoyed it.

Chris and I have now been married for a year! WOW time has flown by fast. We didn't celebrate the day of because it was super bowl sunday, and heaven forbid we miss that. Ha! We went out on monday night, and it was real nice to be able to not have a kid. Sorry Dax!

Speaking of Daxon, im trying to think of some updates of him... hmmm....

He can now roll over!

He needs ANOTHER hair cut.

He's the EXACT same size as the 10 month babies at church.

I swear he says, "MWOOOOOMM!!"(Mom). He says that almost everytime he looks at me and wants to be picked up.

He doesn't believe in sitting still.

The past week has been pretty hard. The moving company we moved with are pretty much stealing our stuff. Its been pretty hard to deal with the fact that I most likely wont be getting all of my stuff back.

Besides that horrible fact, I've been able to focus on the fact that I'm so blessed to have my family! My little Daxon is so much fun! He's able to grab his toys and hold them, and some what play with them. He's always laughing, and if he could just get that wiggling body and head under control he would be able to sit up on his own! After I put him to sleep and he wakes back up, he's finally able to fall asleep again in his crib all on his own without crying!! It's nice.

Now if I could just figure out why he's been waking up 3 times a night the past week. =P

This post is Christmas/moving! First off..... Christmas!

We had Christmas at my parents house. Here's Dax trying to open his present!

Alright, so we made it to Texas! Everything here is brown right now its kinda gross! Its been pretty warm... i feel like my winter has been cut short. Bleh.
Theres tons of freeways around here and it seems like every store is off the side of the freeway, its really weird. It might take me a little while to figure out my way around here!
Other than that, the Floyd family has been nothing but wonderful! I feel very at home here, its great! William, (Chris' 5 year old brother) LOVES Daxon. Every 10 minutes or so Will tells me how cute Dax is, and hes always asking to hold him. He's such a good uncle!

Tomorrow we have church, and Chris and i are hoping to find some friends. Does that sound desperate?? Haha!

This is a no picture post because my camera is in our bedroom and dax is asleep. Tomorrow i will post some pictures of our house, and some of Daxon in his new bath tub seat!

Last night we went to Chris' work Christmas party. There, Dax got to take a picture with "Santa" (someone from Carmax dressed up in a horrible looking Santa costume!), and we had dinner, dessert, and got $15 to walmart! They were giving out TONS of prizes like, laptops, ipods, TVs, money, blah blah blah... needless to say, we didn't win anything. DARN!! But we did have a wonderful time and dinner was gooooooood!!

After we got back, I started trying to make Dax sit up by himself because he LOVES sitting up. He did it! Only for about 5 seconds at a time... but hey, for an 8 week old I think that's pretty good!!

Snow in Sacramento?!?!!

Yesterday morning we had breakfast with Santa!! It was SO much fun! The breakfast was delicious, Santa was a really good looking Santa, there were lots of crafts for the little ones, and snow!! They had fake snow going outside the windows. It was so cool, all the little kids went out and played in it and had a blast!! Unfortunately, daddy couldn't come with us. He had to go to work. It would have been much more fun if he was able to come!

I put gel in Daxon's hair that morning to try and tame it. It worked, but only for half the day. He looked so handsome!

Thanksgiving 2008

Sorry I haven't been much of a blogger! The past few weeks have been ridiculous! Chris and I are in the very long process of moving to Texas. First we had to pack up and move most of our stuff to a storage unit, and move into my parents home for the month of December just so we can save up a little bit of money. We finally did that, and are now trying to get rid of some stuff so we can pack lightly for the big move. For some reason Chris and I have WAY TO MUCH STUFF! Most newly weds don't have that problem. We are so stressed, tired, and are still trying to figure out some problems that come with the joy of moving. Other than that, we had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Chris' brother got married the 28th, so he drove to Utah for that right after thanksgiving dinner. CONGRATULATIONS BRIAN AND SHADELL!!

Dax didn't poop for 5 days!! Day six, (today) Dax and i went to lunch with Erica and her mom Margo! Well, Erica has the magic touch!! He pooped while she was holding him! Chris is the best husband and father! He takes great care of us, and shows his love for us everyday. He is my best friend, and I love him so much! I don't know what i would do without him!

Daxon laughed today!! It was a real laugh!! We were at church, and he looked up at Chris and i and just got this big smile on his face and laughed! Oh, it was just so cute. There also was this other baby next to us that was 6 months old, and Dax was pretty much just as big as him! Just needed a few extra pounds and you would think Daxon was a 6 month old. He's growing too fast!!

FINALLY!!

We have been searching for a pacifier he would like since he was born. This was a serious matter because his favorite thing to do is suck. Its more than just an "I'm hungry i wanna eat" for him! He would suck on everything near his mouth! Blankets, fingers,... anything and everything! He kind of liked the one they gave him in the hospital, but that one would always fall out of his mouth, and it was frustrating for him, and Chris and i as well! The pacifier is a new kind by Gerber. Its made to have the shape, and movements like a real breast. Its AMAZING! Thank you Gerber!!

Daxon now weighs 13 pounds!! I can't believe it! Hes growing more and more everyday, its crazy! Yesterday we decided to do a little "photo shoot" of Dax while he was awake so grandma Pam can see his eyes! I have to say it... my baby is SO DANG CUTE!! =)

After Dax eats, he rolls over on my lap and just lays there for a few minutes....

and then he gets this look on his face! Hes so funny. He LOVES to eat!

Dax got blessed today!! He was wide awake through the whole blessing, and didn't even cry! What a good boy! And Chris, he did an excellent job! He gave a beautiful blessing. I'm so proud of my boys!! Thank goodness Dax decided to pee through his diaper in his blessing outfit AFTER the blessing!

Our horrible day with Picture People.

Last tuesday My sister and i decided to take Daxon, Noah, and Spencer to Picture People to get Dax his newborn pictures taken, and Noah and Spencer to get halloween pictures done! If you go online you are able to print out a free picture coupon! Cool! Well... we ended up spending pretty much all afternoon there because the people that work there have no idea what they are doing. It was SO FRUSTRATING. Here are the results.

Circumcision

This morning daddy, dax, and i went to the doctors office for daxons second check up since hes been born, and also to be.... dun dun dunn... circumcised. Ok-first the happy news! dax now weighs 9lbs 9oz!! Hes getting so big! The doctor said because hes gaining weight so well she doesnt need to see him for two months!

Then it came time for his surgery. The doctor started telling chris and i what would be going on, and what could happen if things went wrong. I started crying pretty much right when she told me they were going to strap his arms and legs down on the table. We signed the paper and off went my baby to get his little hooter chopped. I felt like the worst mom in the world! I cried even more when i heard him screaming two doors down. Thank goodness daddy was there to go in with him, i probably would have changed my mind, taken my baby and ran out the door!

When we got home i was a little worried about how chris and i would be able to take care him, but little dax has been sleeping pretty much all day so that made it kinda easy. He now has a little fever but the doctor said that was normal. I just feel so bad for him! I cant wait til its over!!

Last night Daxon gave us quite a scare! He threw up twice and had a temperature of 100.3. We were told that if it got to 100.4 then we needed to take him to the hospital right away. Well being the freaker-out-er that i am we ended up rushing him to the ER, with me sitting in the back of the car with him crying harder then he was. By the time we got there and were seen by a doctor, his temperature went down but they wanted to run more tests on him to find out why he was throwing up. They ended up keeping us there til 1am and yet they couldnt find out why he threw up. SO ANNOYING!!!!

So of course now im going to end up losing more sleep just from worrying through the night, checking his temperature every diaper change, and will study and watch his every move.

Being a parent is very stressful.

The life of a newborn...

YAY!! Dax lost his umbilical cord!! Yesterday morning i was changing him and it was just hanging there. GROSS! It really scared me, i had no idea it could fall off that fast. The whole day i was freaking out checking it every five seconds making sure it wasn't infected.

I can't believe he's 1 week old already! He already can't fit into most of the newborn clothes, hes now moved on to 0-3month! You would think thats the same size, but its not. He's growing so fast. He's also letting me sleep a little bit more!! He only wakes up 3 times a night now. Its WONDERFUL.

Friday morning i went in and got my doctor to strip my membranes. Boy, did that hurt!! The rest of the afternoon i had little contractions and was very sore and very uncomfortable. Around 9pm the real deal started, and i found myself on all fours on my living room floor swaying back and forth. My husband gave me a blessing and my sister helped me through the long wait of staying home til it was time to go to the hospital. 12am-went to the hospital, scared out of my mind, doctor broke my water, threw up a bit, pushed for an hour and a half, and at 6:55am on saturday morniing i had my beautiful baby boy!!! All i can say is, THANK GOODNESS FOR EPIDURALS!!

Our little man was 8lbs 6oz, and 20inches long.

He's perfect.
